Antonio Margarito said Tuesday in Beverly Hills that it's time to turn the page. Appearing at the first of three press conferences to hype his Nov. 13 Cowboys Stadium title bout against Manny Pacquiao, the Mexican veteran was suitably low key, humble even, as he spoke to the assembled media.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Manny Pacquiao believes in giving a second chance to disgraced boxer Antonio Margarito, his next opponent.  Pacquiao has more trouble believing Margarito didn't know about his illegal hand wraps before a fight nearly two years ago, and boxing's pound-for-pound champion wants somebody watching Margarito before they meet.

CEBU CITY – Waterfront Hotel and Casino Grand Ballroom was jampacked here with boxing enthusiasts from all walks of life who wanted to see our local boxing heroes pitted against their respective foes from other parts of the world. Boxing personalities and elected officals were also there. Misamis Oriental Governor Oscar Moreno and world champion Donnie “Ahas” Nietes, among others, were introduced atop the ring before the main event. Nietes got the loudest applause among the VIP’s called.

ROEL Velasco, Edito Villamor and Luisito Espinosa were the reasons I became a boxing fan. The first live boxing match I saw was the semifinal loss of Roel to a Cuban in the Barcelona Olympics, while the first Pinoy pro boxer I followed in the papers was Edito. I remember looking forward to my graduation from high school because it was the day news of his title fight against Ricardo Lopez would come out in the national papers.
